Notes and Expanded Details
*** Add 'Strap Locks' to MegStrap or MegSlider
We can install Schaller 'Security Lock' Strap Locks on any MegStrap or MegSlider. Extra protection for your instrument. Installation includes matching lock-post fitted to instrument in place of normal strap button, and U-shaped locking cup installed securely on each strap end. Strap-cup slides onto lock-post easily, and snaps into place. Swivels easily but holds securely. Quick release when you pull on the lock-pin.
(Note: MaxTapper and ToneWeaver and Hammer of Thor come with Strap Locks installed free. If purchasing any TrueTapper, you can add Strap Locks (shiny nickel plate) for $40, or $50 for black, or $60 for Gold, installed.
*** Straplock Upgrades
If you have chrome straplocks( standard on MaxTapper and ToneWeaver), they can be changed to Black for $20, or Gold for $30. If you have ToneWeaver separate bridge plates in chrome they can be changed to Black for $20, or to Brass for free. You can have chrome tuner machines changed to Black for $20, or to Gold for $30. On any instrument, change Chrome volume/tone knobs to Gold for $30.
** Custom GraphTech ‘Ghost System’
The GraphTech ‘Ghost’ system provides piezo string saddles of charcoal-colored StringSaver material. These custom saddles can then drive either their ‘Acoustiphonic’ preamp(s) to give a rich, full-frequency audio output to complement the sound of your magnetic pickups, OR these custom saddles can drive ‘Hexpander’ preamp(s) to provide 13-Pin midi-guitar-type signals for your Roland or other type of midi brain. (Midi processing requires midi brain units and or synthesizers).
The Acoustiphonic piezo audio output or the 13-pin midi-ready ouputs can be installed on either the bass or the melody side of your megatar instrument, or on both sides.
With the Acoustiphonic modification, we’ll install a flip-out battery box on the rear of your megatar, to make battery change a snap, and we’ll install dual mono output jacks. (Unjack the cables to conserve battery life.) Also included: a pair of our ClearCables of canara cable and neutrik connectors, and selector switches to choose magnetic output, piezo output, or a blend.
With the Midi modification, we’ll install 13-pin output jack(s), plus midi volume switch(es) and patch selector switches.
** Custom Bartolini Dual 'Active-Circuit' Preamps, $320
For use with our instruments containing Bartolini pickups (Storm, MaxTapper, ToneWeaver), we can install dual preamps engineered by Bartolini Electronics. These boost the signal inside the instrument, so that the stronger signal is easily driven through your guitar cable(s) to reach your amp, and eliminates the common sonic loss that normally occurs between the guitar and the amp. Installation includes a flip-out battery box on the rear of the instrument body, the two preamp circuits, plus preamp configuration and filtering, installation of dual output jacks (which act as off/on switches for the preamp, so as to conserve battery life), and a pair of our 'ClearCable' Oxygen-Free mono cables for output.
** Custom Bartolini ’Quad’ Pickups Array, $320
The special MaxTapper ‘Quad’ or ToneWeaver ‘Quad’ pickups array adds more Bartolini power! You get two Bartolini pickups for the bass, and two more for melody. Switch-selectable, select either front pickup, rear pickup, or both. For example, on the melody side you might select the mellower front pickup when playing background, and then kick in both pickups for your solo. On the bass side, you might use the front pickup for a rounder, softer sound, or the rear pickup for more 'groan-tone.'
** Custom 'Stereo/Mono' Toggle Switch, $60
This custom modification adds a toggle switch on the front face of your instrument. This toggle switch in the UP position adds the 'bass' signal to the melody output so that the combined signal is available on the melody cable. In the DOWN position, the bass signal is delivered separately on the bass cable as usual. This modification can only be done on some configurations.
Custom Edge-Dots (Black or White), $90 (on new instruments), $120 (retro-install)
This custom modification adds Edge-Dots on the fretboard edge nearest your face. These Edge-Dots exactly mirror the fretboard dots, so that you can see the fretboard location system as you play, without the need to bend over the fretboard. On dark-wood instruments (MaxTapper and ToneWeaver) the Edge-Dots are white, and on light-wood instruments like Truetapper, the Edge-Dots are black.
** Mobius 'ClearCable' Stereo Output Cable, $60
Help your amplifier do the best job that it can by minimizing sound loss between your instrument and the amplifier. Our ClearCables provide the best sound transmission available in any guitar cable. These use Japanese oxygen-free Canara cable for the leads, and German best-quality Neutrik connectors for sturdy long life and excellent connection at the ends. You can hear the difference these cables make. Makes the best of your expensive amplifier, and allows your inexpensive or practice amp to deliver the best sound that it can. This is a STEREO output cable, as is commonly used on touch-style instruments. At the instrument end you'll find a single stereo jack, and from that two separate cables carry your melody signal to your melody amp (or input) and carry your bass signal to your bass amp (or input). This cable will normally be used on an instrument with normal 'passive' pickups.
** Two Mobius 'ClearCable' Mono Output Cables, $60
These use Japanese oxygen-free Canara cable for the leads, and German best-quality Neutrik connectors to allow your amp to sound its best. These are a PAIR of MONO cables, as are commonly used on touch-style instruments which have ACTIVE preamps in use. So if you have our optional Bartolini Active-Circuit Preamps built into your instrument, you'll use two mono cables to carry your melody and bass signals to your melody and bass amps. (In instruments which have our Bartolini Active-Circuits installed, you'll have two separate output jacks, and jacking a cable into either jack will turn your preamps on. When you jack out, then preamps are turned off, to extend battery life.
**** Many Tunings Available
Standard tunings on Mobius instruments:
- Simple Power tuning 'BassBottom' for playing like a bass and guitar: offers six melody strings in fourths ('Standard Melody'), and six bass strings in fourths (called 'Bass Bottom' or 'Standard 6-String Bass' tuning);
- Simple Power tuning 'Bi-Melody' for playing like dual guitars: offers six melody strings in fourths ('Standard Melody'), with a second set of melody strings in the bass position ('lo-melody') detuned one whole step lower, in ascending fourths ('Bi-Melody' tuning).
- Optional 'Inverted-Fifths' tuning for playing like a bass and guitar: offers six melody strings in fourths ('Standard Melody'), with six bass strings in 'Inverted Fifths' tuning (aka 'Grand Stick' tuning). This tuning available at a nominal additional shop fee of $20.

For standard instruments using our 'Simple Power' standard tunings (BassBottom and Bi-Melody) and for the optional 'Inverted-Fifths' tuning, our Guarantee of Satisfaction applies: Try the instrument for up to a week. If not completely delighted, you may return instrument in new condition for full refund of purchase price.
We can also supply (for a fee) a number of nonstandard tunings, with Feiten Intonation installed, including the 'Uncrossed' string arrangements, Teed Rockwell's tuning, or 'Mirrored' tunings or the 'Mirror Fourths' tuning (you must supply strings for this one). Our Guarantee of Satisfaction also applies if you have requested a nonstandard tuning; however, on any returned instrument would incur a re-stocking fee of $150 to restring, re-setup, and reinstall Feiten Intonation system in a standard tuning.
